School’s out for summer! Don’t you want to blare this song with your windows down on the last day of school? The last day of school = the beginning of summer. My husband coined this summer as the “Summer of Adrienne.” I’m trying to make up for the last year and am hitting the road!
But living at the lake, summer means more than travel. It means guests! Lots of guests! After years of practice, I’ve learned to turn our guest bedrooms in less than two hours. Clean sheets, clean towels, little special touches like fresh cut hydrangea and pretty guest towels.
There’s something about the water and sunshine that makes everyone hungry and an easy, go-to menu is key! We love to keep it simple … ribs, tomato pie, grilled corn, crisp white wine & buttermilk pie (recipe cred goes to my mother-in-law) are our favs.
The best part of entertaining is creating a beautiful table. Whether we are on the dock, on the deck or inside (when we can’t take the gnats & heat anymore), a colorful, summer inspired table just makes the food taste even better!
