Setting a festive holiday table doesn’t have to be stressful! These are a few of our favorite tips to make you the hostess with the mostess!
- Start with a color palette. Don’t be afraid to use non-traditional colors but we recommend limiting to no more than 3 main colors. For this table, we selected scarlet red, grass green and midnight blue.
- Select a centerpiece. This usually drives our choices in linens and china. We love to incorporate a vintage element - either antique ornaments, an interesting container for florals or for this table, we used retro bottle brush trees.
- Take inventory of your supplies. Do you have enough napkins? Are you using a tablecloth? Do you have plenty of china for your guests? This is a great opportunity to mix & match. Short on china? Use a coordinating pattern at the head of the table. Not enough napkins? Alternate patterns at each place setting.
- Create your stack. Layers of linens, china and accent pieces create visual interest on your table. We used a placemat, dinner plate, salad plate and a colorful accent bowl.
