Thanksgiving table essentials

1. CHINA

Whether you are a fan of all white or have china for every holiday, Thanksgiving is the time to pull it all out! We love to mix and match patterns. Solid + pattern. Different combos at each seat. The creative table is always the most interesting table!

2. TEXTURE

Texture can be achieved with layered textiles, such as burlap toppers with cotton tablecloths/toppers or satin ribbons tied around dinner napkins. Texture can also come from quilted placemats, cabbage style dishes, hobnail milk glass, or embossed plates.

3. BRING IN NATURE

Natural elements work for every season - wicker chargers, birch wrapped candles, rattan wrapped glassware, fruit, flowers, gourds, rosemary, branches, pinecones, nuts or leaves. Going for a rustic look? Leave these in their natural state. Want something striking? Spray paint gold, silver or a bold, bright color.

4. CREATE A COLLECTED LOOK

Everything does not need to “match.” Create visual interest by alternating place settings and use different napkins or placemats for each seat. Depending on the size of your guest list, we recommend keeping to 2 - 3 patterns to create a cohesive look. Click here to shop our favorite Thanksgiving patterns.

5. THE CENTERPIECE

Keep your centerpiece low to encourage conversation. If seating at a long rectangular table, consider a series of small arrangements down the table. If your table is round, try an arrangement in a low footed bowl. We love arrangements that incorporate fruit, veggies and flowers! Unscented white or ecru votives are always a wonderful addition. Follow along all month for our centerpiece ideas.

6. PERSONALIZED PLACE SETTINGS

Using place cards will help avoid stress when you're trying to serve your meal. The placecard can perform double duty as a tag on a napkin ring or it can be the tag of a small gift. Free downloads of our favorites for Thanksgiving

7. TRY A FESTIVE NAPKIN FOLD

7. DON’T FORGET THE KIDS’ TABLE
